Jalen Williams Is Not Concerned With Standings, Tiebreakers In Final 15 Games
Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

As the Oklahoma City Thunder prepare to take on the Utah Jazz on Wednesday for their first game in three days, it carries more weight than the overall standings suggest. Due to the Timberwolves and Thunder splitting the season series, if the two end up with the same overall record their tiebreaker will be a divisional record.

This is a good opportunity for the Thunder to grab a divisional win with the shorthanded Jazz in town. It could be huge with the Timberwolves still having two more tangos with the Nuggets down the stretch of this season.

Though, despite the implications, Jalen Williams assured the assembled media at shoot around that he is not focused on the standings during these final 15 games.

“I’m not aware at all. I don’t think that’s something we bring up. I think it’s more just winning the games. I think that really resolves a lot of the tiebreaker stuff.”

While the Jazz will be without Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson with John Collins tabbed as questionable, Oklahoma City is not overlooking tonight's matchup according to their star forward.

"We have a humble understanding of what that's like," Williams said mentioning they have been in a spot down a few guys and have seen what games look like when the opposition overlooks a team in this position.

The Oklahoma City Thunder enjoyed three straight off days this week, but from now through the final regular season contest, OKC will not see back-to-back off days again.
