A particularly shocking social media post by the Dallas Stars' official X account has drawn backlash and triggered a content warning for "sensitive content."
The post, still on the team's page late Thursday morning, shows a picture of a green truck driving along an empty highway in the distance, with what is presumably a dead coyote lying in the road.
The caption to the post says, "Road killed."
In the aftermath of the Stars' questionable decision, the Arizona Coyotes' official X account called out their opponent, to which Dallas responded and seemed to double down on their choice.
At least we don’t get used to L’s.

Once the post was flagged, the Coyotes' account poked fun at the anonymous Stars' social media employee, who they believe will get fired.

Many fans also noted in reaction to the post that the animal in the image appears to be a fox, making it both graphic and misidentifying.
The back-and-forth came following Dallas' 5-2 home win against Arizona.
The Stars (42-19-9) are in fourth place in the Western Conference and are in a good position to make the playoffs for the third straight year. Meanwhile, the Coyotes (28-36-5) are in 13th place and look destined to miss the postseason for the fourth straight campaign and 12th time in the last 13 years.
