Tottenham in ‘pole position’ to sign €35-40m-rated forward with 16 goals this season

Tottenham are leading the race for Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson.

Spurs are gearing up for an important transfer window where they will look to reinforce Ange Postecoglou’s squad and provide him with enough resources to challenge for the league title next season.

The North London club are looking to bring in a top-quality forward and according to a report from Inter Live, they are in ‘pole position’ to sign Albert Gudmundsson.

The 26-year-old forward has gone from strength to strength since joining Genoa in the winter of 2022. In the ongoing season, he has featured in 34 matches and has contributed with 16 goals and four assists. The majority of his appearances have come as a second-striker but he also featured as a striker, a left winger and in the midfield when needed.

Gudmundsson’s ability to find the back of the net and his versatility makes him a top target for Tottenham. He will not only add depth and quality to their attack, but the 26-year-old will also provide Postecoglou with multiple options to work with.

Genoa are aware of the amount of interest in his services and they are looking to raise around €35-40 million from his sale. The price tag might not really be a problem for the North London club and they are leading the race at this stage despite interest from clubs across Europe.

Former managing director of Tottenham, Fabio Paratici might be banned by FIFA but he still has great influence at the club and he could play a key role in the transfer. They have already signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa last winter and with Gudmundsson represented by the same agency, Spurs do have an upper hand over others.
